Carrie Underwood is staying positive, despite recently revealing that she suffered injuries to her face a few months ago.
The country singer suffered a nasty fall outside of her Nashville home back in November. It was originally reported that she had broken her wrist. Underwood further elaborated on her injuries in a blog post to her fan club members on New Year’s Day.
The singer also sustained injuries to her face during her fall, which required between 40 and 50 stitches to fix. Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher, was by her side after the surgery to repair her face was completed.
The 34-year-old “American Idol” alum wanted to let her fans know that she may look a little different when she returns to the public eye. She has largely stayed out of the spotlight since her fall.
Just a few days prior to sustaining her injuries, Underwood hosted the 2017 CMA Awards with fellow country singer, Brad Paisley. It was the tenth time the duo had hosted the awards ceremony together.
The “Before He Cheats” singer seemed in good spirits while working out a few days ago next to Bravo’s “Below Deck” star, Adrienne Gang. Gang shared a picture of the two on Twitter, later writing that she had no idea the singer had sustained injuries to her face and that she looked great. In the photo, Underwood can be seen wearing a brace on her wrist.
According to Fox News, Underwood shared a photo of herself on Instagram in late-December, but hid her face behind a scarf from her CALIA fitness apparel brand.
The singer said the fall was a freak accident, and that she plans on returning to the spotlight soon. Despite her injuries, she is hopeful that the differences to her appearance will be minimal and that fans won’t notice much of a change.
