Lime Crime makeup is a brand that takes great pride in being different, unusual and even bizarre.
That’s alright, says CEO and founder Doe Deere. She didn’t start out launching her cosmetics company to be like every other and tow the line. Instead, Lime Crime was debuted in 2008 because the makeup industry wasn’t offering much else but boring beige palettes and the typical cosmetics uniform.
Lime Crime is sexy, naughty, modern and unapologetic. It’s fun makeup that pushes the beauty envelope. Doe Deere’s latest creation is the Diamond Crushers Lip Topper, and this one is impressive with holographic glitter, according to a report by InStyle magazine.
Diamond Crushers are versatile and deliver gorgeous results when worn alone or over lipstick. The shimmer is so lovely and long-lasting, and there are 21 different shades to choose from. For example, there is Meadow (mint green), Trip (delirium purple), Over the Rainbow (rainbow nude) and Heirloom (ruby pink). The shades are feminine, softly bold and infused with a proprietary water-based formula. By the way, these toppers are not a lip gloss, and once put on, feel feather-light and elegant.
The magazine tested some of the shades on their InStyle staffers, and the women there enjoyed the glam look they could achieve wearing the glittery lip toppers. The ladies also felt that Diamond Crushers are very wearable during the day at the office as long as you pick one of the more subtle shades. The formula is comfy to wear and is not at all sticky.
Diamond Crushers can also enhance other parts of your face and body. The brand recommends wearing a topper as mermaid highlighter on the cheeks, eyelids, collarbone and under the brow.
Lime Crime also sells iconic liquid to matte lipsticks that always seem to sell out fast. The Velvetines go great under a Diamond Crushers Lip Topper and take your game to the next level.
These toppers don’t run or feel dry like sandpaper. Once you apply the product evenly, it will set and stay there. It’s all about the matte, smudge-proof formula.
Doe Deere likes makeup that delivers shine, iridescence and a fairy-like quality, and Lime Crime is known for imbuing that fantastical essence.
The brand also features gorgeous highlighter palettes that can be dusted over foundation or to highlight your decollete and other parts of your body. Lime Crime’s opalescent Hi-Lite compacts come in a variety of effects. For example, there are Hi-Lite Mermaids that contain a trio of pretty shades of “sparkling lavender/ivory/seafoam.”
The shimmering highlights are great for enhancing curves, bone structure and even strands of hair.
Another plus to Lime Crime makeup is in its high standards of beauty and ethics. The Los Angeles-based brand is vegan and cruelty-free and certified by the Leaping Bunny and PETA organizations. Not many beauty companies can make the same claim and back it up with facts. Doe Deere, Lime Crime and her staff all share a great love of animals and will not back down by keeping all cosmetics clean and healthy and never testing on animals.

Doe Deere read the book “War Paint: Madame Helena Rubinstein and Miss Elizabeth Arden: Their Lives, Their Times, Their Rivalry” by Lindy Woodhead and says it’s been inspirational for her to see how others have blazed the beauty trail before her. The cosmetics CEO also lists fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld as another hero in the industry for his expansive vision.
